    From downtown Los Altos, the Redwood Grove Nature Preserve is a pleasant walk through a quiet neighborhood. Head north on Main Street, then turn left onto University Avenue. Continue for several blocks; the preserve entrance will be on your left at 482 University Ave. Look for the discreet sign as it's easy to miss. No entrance fee is required.

  • Public Transport

    The Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) route 40 stops at El Monte Ave, a 10-minute walk to the preserve. From the El Monte stop, walk north on El Monte Avenue, turn left onto University Avenue, and continue to 482 University Ave. The preserve will be on your left. VTA single ride fares are typically $2.50.

  • Driving

    From Highway 280, take the El Monte Avenue exit and head east. Turn left onto University Avenue. The Redwood Grove Nature Preserve will be on your left at 482 University Ave.. Limited free street parking is available on University Avenue. If street parking is full, additional parking is available at Shoup Park, a short walk away.
