Getting There

Car
From Arenal Volcano National Park, head west on Route 142 towards La Fortuna. Continue for about 20 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 4. Turn left onto Route 4 and drive for approximately 30 minutes. You will pass through the town of San Carlos. Keep an eye out for signs for Cavernas de Venado, which is located just off Route 4. The entrance is approximately 1 km from the main road. Parking is available on site, and there is no fee for parking.

Public Transportation
From La Fortuna, take a local bus heading towards San Carlos. Buses typically leave from the main bus station in La Fortuna. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around 1,500-2,500 CRC. Once you arrive in San Carlos, you can either take a taxi or walk approximately 4 km to reach the Cavernas de Venado. Taxis are available near the bus station and should cost around 3,000-4,000 CRC. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
