From Jaco, head to the main bus terminal located on Avenida Pastor Diaz. Look for the bus that travels to Quepos or Manuel Antonio, as they often stop near Punta Mala Arriba. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you at the nearest point to Cascada El Pavón. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Be sure to keep an eye out for the 'Punta Mala Arriba' area, as you will need to get off near the intersection that leads to the waterfall.

Once you get off the bus, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach Cascada El Pavón. Head east on the main road, following the signs towards Punta Mala Arriba. After about 500 meters, you will notice a small trail on your left that leads into the forest. Follow this trail, which will lead you down towards the waterfall. Be prepared for a bit of a hike; the path can be steep and rocky in some areas.
