If you are driving from the center of Monteverde, start by heading southwest on Route 606. After approximately 4 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork towards El Castillo/Arenal. Continue for about 5 kilometers until you see signs for the Butterfly Conservatory on your left. There is a parking area available on-site. Be aware that the roads can be bumpy in some areas, so drive carefully.

To reach the Butterfly Conservatory via public transportation, head to the local bus station in Monteverde. Look for the buses heading to El Castillo. The ride lasts about 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to the Butterfly Conservatory. The bus will drop you off near the entrance. From there, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach the conservatory, following the signs that direct you along the main road.
