Getting There

  • Walking

From the center of Monteverde, head towards the main road (Ruta 606). You can start at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and walk down the path leading to the main road. Once you reach Ruta 606, turn left and continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the signs for Tilarán. At this intersection, turn right onto the road towards Tilarán. Continue straight for another 2 kilometers, and keep an eye out for a school on your right. Just after passing the school, look for a sign that says '1 kilometer norte de la escuela, Los Olivos.' The SinwaTours office will be located on your left side, approximately 1 kilometer from the school.

  • Bus

From Monteverde, go to the main bus terminal near the Santa Elena town center. Look for the bus service heading to Tilarán, which usually departs every hour. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the school (make sure to inform the driver that you want to stop near the school). From there, walk 1 kilometer north past the school. You'll see the signs indicating the way to SinwaTours. It will be on your left side after about a 15-minute walk.

  • Taxi

You can easily find a taxi in Monteverde by asking at your hotel or at any local establishment. Tell the driver you want to go to 'SinwaTours, 1 kilometer norte de la escuela, Los Olivos.' The ride typically takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before you get in the taxi to avoid any surprises.
