From San Salvador, take bus route 205 towards Sonsonate. Get off at the Terminal de Sonsonate and transfer to bus route 209, which goes directly to the entrance of Cerro Verde National Park. The bus fare from San Salvador to Sonsonate is approximately $1.50, and the fare from Sonsonate to Cerro Verde is about $0.75. The total travel time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

Driving
From Santa Ana, head east on the CA-1 highway. Continue until you reach the junction for the CA-8 road towards Cerro Verde. Turn left onto CA-8 and follow the signs for Parque Nacional Cerro Verde. The park entrance will be on your left after about 15 kilometers. Parking at the park costs $1.
