Getting There

• Walking

  Start your journey at the central square of Saint-Marc, known as Place Saint-Marc. From the square, head north along Rue 1 until you reach the intersection with Rue 2. Turn left onto Rue 2 and continue walking straight for about 10 minutes. You will pass several local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for signs that point you towards Cap-Haïtien or Notre-Dame of Cap-Haïtien Cathedral. After walking for about 800 meters, you will reach a bus station. Here, you can ask locals for directions to Cap-Haïtien to ensure you're on the right path. Once you confirm your route, continue walking straight on Rue 2 until it merges into Route Nationale #1. Follow this road, which is also a well-trodden path and should lead you towards Cap-Haïtien. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will enter Cap-Haïtien. Once in Cap-Haïtien, locate Rue 18, which is a major thoroughfare. The Notre-Dame of Cap-Haïtien Cathedral is located at 16-F-H Rue 18, just a few blocks from the main road.

• Public Transport (Tap-Tap)

  From any central point in Saint-Marc, look for a tap-tap (shared taxi) heading to Cap-Haïtien. Tap-taps are usually located near busy areas like markets or bus stations. Once you board a tap-tap, inform the driver that you are going to Cap-Haïtien. The fare is usually affordable, and the journey will take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off near the center of Cap-Haïtien. After you get off, walk towards Rue 18, which is a prominent street in the area. The Notre-Dame of Cap-Haïtien Cathedral is located at 16-F-H Rue 18, a short walk from the drop-off point.
