Getting There

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From the Palatine Metra Station, board the Union Pacific Northwest line train towards Chicago. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Disembark at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Once you exit the train station, walk east towards W Washington Blvd. Turn left and walk for one block until you reach N Canal St. Turn right on N Canal St and head south until you reach W Adams St. Turn left on W Adams St and continue walking until you reach the Chicago River. Walk east along the riverfront until you arrive at the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum located at 99 Chicago Riverwalk.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From the Palatine Village Hall, take the Pace Bus Route 600 towards the Arlington Heights Train Station. After approximately 20 minutes, transfer to Pace Bus Route 224 at the Arlington Heights Train Station heading to the CTA Blue Line Station. Once you arrive at the Blue Line Station, board the train towards O'Hare. Get off at the Washington & Wells station. From here, walk east on W Washington Blvd to N Canal St. Continue south on N Canal St until you reach W Adams St. Turn left and head toward the river. Walk east along the Chicago Riverwalk to the museum.

    If you are near downtown Palatine, simply start your walk towards the Palatine Metra Station. From there, take a train to Chicago as described in the train section. If you are already in the Chicago area, you can also walk towards the river from any nearby CTA station or landmark. Navigate towards the Chicago Riverwalk and follow the river eastward until you reach the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum.
