Public Transit
If you are in Palatine, head to the Palatine Metra Station located at 137 W Wood St. Board the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago Union Station. The ride takes approximately 50 minutes. Disembark at the Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago. From there, walk to the nearby Washington/Wells subway station and take the 'Pink Line' towards 18th. Get off at the 18th stop and transfer to the #29 State bus heading south. Get off at the stop at 18th St & Calumet Ave. From there, walk east on 18th St and turn left on Calumet Ave. The Battle of Fort Dearborn Park will be on your right at 1801 S Calumet Ave.
Walking
If you're already near the downtown area of Palatine, you can take a scenic walk to the Metra station. Head towards E Dundee Rd, then make your way to the Metra station. After boarding the train to Chicago, follow the above instructions from there. If you're coming from local hotels in Palatine, simply ask for directions to the Metra station, as it's a common landmark.
