If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi. Head northeast on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan until you reach the intersection with Jalan Tol Pare-Pare. Take the toll road towards Pare-Pare. After approximately 150 km, take the exit towards Rantepao to enter Toraja. Continue driving for another 30 km to Rantepao, the main town in Toraja. From Rantepao, follow the signs to Lolai, which is about a 22 km drive uphill. The road can be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. Upon arrival in Lolai, you will find the lush landscapes and cool climate of To' Tombi, Negeri di atas awan.

For those using public transportation, begin your journey at the Makassar Bus Terminal. Board a bus heading to Rantepao, which can take around 8-10 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Buses depart regularly, and the fare typically ranges from Rp150,000 to Rp200,000. Once you arrive in Rantepao, you can hire a local taxi or a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you to Lolai, which is about 22 km away. The fare for this ride usually costs around Rp100,000 to Rp150,000. Be prepared for the scenic but winding roads as you ascend to the cool highlands of Lolai.
