Getting There

  • Walking

    From Piazza Tasso, Sorrento's main square, enter the historical center via Via San Cesareo. This pedestrian street is the heart of the old town. Explore the maze of alleyways branching off from Via San Cesareo. Note that the historical center is compact and easily walkable.

  • Public Transport

    From the Sorrento train station or bus terminal, walk along Corso Italia towards Piazza Tasso. Several local buses (EAV and Cooperativa Tasso) also connect the station to Piazza Tasso; tickets cost around €1.20. From Piazza Tasso, follow the walking directions above. Public transport tickets can be purchased at tobacco shops or at the Circumvesuviana train station.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available at the Sorrento train station, port, and Piazza Tasso. A taxi from the train station to Piazza Tasso, the entrance to the historical center, will cost a minimum of €6, plus €1 per luggage. From Piazza Tasso, follow the walking directions. Uber is unavailable in Sorrento.

  • Parking

    If arriving by car, be aware that the historical center is closed to traffic in the evenings and all day on Sundays. Several parking garages are available outside the ZTL (limited traffic zone), including Parcheggio Achille Lauro (Correale) in Piazza Lauro (€2/hour) and Fuorimura Parking Sorrento (approx. €2.5/hour). From the parking garages, walk to Piazza Tasso and then enter the historical center on foot. Chiomenzano Car Park is the most centrally located.
