From Mugello, take the SP503 road towards Florence. Merge onto the A1 motorway and continue for approximately 35 kilometers. Take exit 8 towards Firenze Sud. Continue on Via Aretina and follow signs for the city center. Once you reach Florence, follow signs for Centro Storico. Find parking options nearby, as there is limited street parking. The Basilica of Santa Croce is located at Piazza di Santa Croce, 16, 50122 Firenze FI. Be prepared to pay for parking, which can range from €1.50 to €3.50 per hour.

Start your journey at the nearest train station in Mugello (such as Borgo San Lorenzo). Take a regional train to Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN) station. The train ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at SMN, exit the station and take tram line T2 towards 'Firenze, Stazione Leopolda'. Get off at the 'Alamanni - Stazione' stop. From there, you can walk approximately 20 minutes to the Basilica of Santa Croce, following Via Nazionale and then turning onto Via dei Benci. Alternatively, you can catch a bus (line 14 or 23) from the station that goes towards Santa Croce. A train ticket will cost around €3.50, and the tram/bus fare is typically €1.50.
