In 1465, the Piccolomini family expanded the castle, adding defensive walls and nine towers. The castle's polygonal perimeter stretches for 550 meters, featuring slits, buttresses, and nine well-preserved towers. Visitors can explore the castle's grounds and enjoy panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast. The site also houses a small museum displaying local artifacts. Crescenzo De Martino, the current castellan whose family has owned the fortress for about 200 years, often provides guided tours and offers local products such as liqueurs and wine.
