Museo del Tesoro di San Gennaro: A Glimpse into Neapolitan Splendor

The Museo del Tesoro di San Gennaro offers a captivating journey through Naples' history, art, and religious devotion. Another notable piece is the necklace of San Gennaro, crafted over centuries with jewels gifted by European royalty. The museum also displays the silver busts of the city's patron saints, which are carried in processions. The museum's collection is unique because it has never been sold or stolen, thanks to the Deputation of the Royal Chapel of the Treasury of San Gennaro. Visitors can also explore the sacristies of the Cappella del Tesoro, which feature paintings by renowned artists. The museum provides an immersive experience with a sound itinerary that incorporates voices from Naples' alleys and prayers to San Gennaro. The museum is open daily, except Tuesdays, from 9 am to 6 pm.
