Getting There

    If you're driving from Aosta, take the A5 motorway towards Courmayeur. After about 80 km, exit at Courmayeur and follow signs for the Mont Blanc Tunnel (Tunnel du Mont-Blanc) towards Chamonix. Once you exit the tunnel into France, continue following signs for Chamonix and then for Zermatt via the A40 and A41. Note that you cannot drive directly into Zermatt, as it is a car-free village. You will need to park at the nearby town of Täsch (there are several parking lots available) and then take a train from Täsch to Zermatt, which takes about 12 minutes. Train tickets cost approximately €8 one way.
