Car
If you're driving from central Hitachi, head southeast on Route 6 towards the city of Mito. After approximately 40 kilometers, merge onto the Joban Expressway (E6) and continue for about 20 kilometers. Take the exit towards Ibaraki Prefectural Route 4 and follow the signs to Tokyo. You will then merge onto Route 50, which leads you into Tokyo. Follow the signs for Sumida City and then proceed to the address: 1 Chome-4-5 Mukojima, Sumida City, Tokyo 131-0033. Please note that parking options near Ushijima Shrine may be limited, so plan accordingly.

Public Transportation
To reach Ushijima Shrine using public transport, start by taking the JR Joban Line from Hitachi Station. Take the train towards Ueno and disembark at Ueno Station (approximately 50 minutes). From Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and travel towards Kodemmacho. Change at Higashi-Mukojima Station. Once you exit the station, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the shrine. Walk southwest on the main road until you reach 1 Chome-4-5 Mukojima, Sumida City, Tokyo 131-0033. Ensure to have a Suica or Pasmo card for easy transfers and any applicable fare costs.
