Getting There

Train
From Osaka Station, take the JR Yamatoji Line towards Nara. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Nara Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take bus number 70 or 72 towards Todai-ji Daibutsuden. Get off at the Todai-ji Daibutsuden bus stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Todai-ji Nigatsu-do.

If you are starting from Namba Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Kintetsu Nara Station, which takes around 40 minutes. After arriving at Kintetsu Nara Station, head out of the station and walk to the bus terminal. Board bus number 70 or 72 towards Todai-ji Daibutsuden and disembark at the Todai-ji Daibutsuden bus stop. It’s a 5-minute walk from there to Todai-ji Nigatsu-do.

Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Nara Park, you can walk to Todai-ji Nigatsu-do. From Nara Park, head towards Todai-ji Temple, following the signs. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk through the park, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and deer roaming freely. Once you reach Todai-ji Temple, continue walking up the path to Nigatsu-do, which is located to the east of the main hall.
