  • Public Transport

    The New National Theatre, Tokyo, is conveniently accessible via public transport. The easiest way to reach the NNTT is by taking the Keio New Line to Hatsudai Station. The theater is a one-minute walk from the Central Exit of Hatsudai Station. Follow the signs within the station to the Central Exit, and upon exiting the ticket gate, turn right. At the first corner, turn right again, and then turn left where you'll see posters of NNTT performances. Take the escalator to the ground floor to reach the Opera Palace and Playhouse, or turn left at the escalator to walk alongside the pond to The Pit. A single fare on Tokyo Metro lines costs between ¥180 and ¥330 depending on the distance traveled.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Tokyo and offer a direct way to reach the New National Theatre. From Shibuya Station, a taxi ride to the NNTT typically costs around ¥2164. Taxi fares in Tokyo start at ¥420 for the first 1,052 meters, with an additional ¥80 for every 233 meters. Note that fares increase by 20% between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Ensure the taxi driver is aware of the destination, or show them the address: 1 Chome-1-1 Honmachi, Shibuya, Tokyo 151-0071. Tolls are not common on this short trip.

    If driving to the New National Theatre, parking is available onsite from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The NNTT shares an underground parking facility with the Tokyo Opera City building, offering approximately 860 spaces. A discount on parking fees is available for theatergoers (excluding certain performances and events); present your parking ticket at the Information Counter. Parking costs ¥300 for every 30 minutes. To reach the theater, exit the Metropolitan Expressway (MEX) No. 4 Line at the Shinjuku Ramp/Hatsudai.
