If you are traveling by car, use the following directions from the city of Salina, KS, which is a central point in Central Kansas. Start on I-70 E and drive for about 70 miles. Take exit 213 toward US-183 S. Continue on US-183 S for approximately 30 miles. Then turn left onto KS-4 E and follow this road for about 15 miles. Finally, turn left onto N 2nd St in Lebanon, KS. The Geographic Center of the United States is located at 39.8283° N, 98.5795° W. You will see a sign marking the site, and there’s a small park area to enjoy your visit.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, your best option is to take a bus from larger cities like Wichita or Topeka to the nearest town, which is Phillipsburg, KS. From Phillipsburg, you can use a local taxi service or rideshare app to reach the Geographic Center. Note that there may not be a direct bus line to Lebanon, so check schedules in advance.
