Car
From Elgeyo Escarpment, head south on the A104 road towards the town of Nakuru. After approximately 60 kilometers, merge onto the A2 road towards Narok. Continue on the A2 for about 120 kilometers until you reach the town of Narok. In Narok, turn left onto the C12 road and follow it for about 50 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Amboseli National Park. Be sure to check road conditions in advance, as some areas may be affected by weather.
Public Transportation
To travel to Amboseli National Park via public transportation, catch a matatu (shared taxi) from Elgeyo Escarpment to Nakuru. This trip will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon reaching Nakuru, transfer to a matatu heading towards Narok. This leg of the journey will take about 2 hours. Once in Narok, you can find a matatu that goes to Amboseli National Park. Ensure you confirm the final stop with the driver. Total travel time may vary, so plan for a full day of travel.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
For a more comfortable travel option, hire a taxi or use a ride-hailing service from Elgeyo Escarpment directly to Amboseli National Park. This will allow for a more direct route and the convenience of traveling at your own pace. The journey can take approximately 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. The cost may vary significantly based on the service provider, so it’s advisable to negotiate or check the fare in advance.
