Walking
If you are in the town center of Thaba-Tseka, start from the main square where shops and local markets are located. Head southeast towards the Thaba Tseka Mountain. Follow the road that leads out of the town, which is often busy with local pedestrians and vendors. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will see a signpost for Thaba Tseka Mountain, marked with directions. Continue straight along the path. The trail is well-trodden and follows the natural contours of the mountain. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the base of Thaba Tseka Mountain. From here, you can hike up to the summit, which is a popular spot for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

To get to Thaba Tseka by bicycle, start from the main market area in Thaba-Tseka. Head east on the main road towards the outskirts of the town. The road will gradually incline as you approach the mountain. Make sure to follow the signs indicating the path to Thaba Tseka. After about 20 minutes of cycling, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path which leads directly to the mountain. Continue cycling until you reach the entrance to the hiking trails. It’s recommended to lock your bike here and proceed on foot for the best access to the mountain trails.

From the central bus station in Thaba-Tseka, look for local taxis (also known as 'combis') heading towards the Thaba Tseka Mountain region. These taxis are usually shared rides and can be identified by their distinctive colors. Inform the driver you want to go to Thaba Tseka Mountain. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the drop-off point, you will still need to walk a short distance to the trailhead. Look for signs guiding you to the hiking paths that lead up the mountain.
