Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Upper Barracca Gardens, exit the gardens and head down the steps towards the main street, Triq Sant'Anna. Turn left and walk along this street until you reach the main thoroughfare, Republic Street (Triq Repubblika). Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the street. At the end, turn right onto Triq Il-Merkanti, and go straight until you reach the entrance of the Birgu area. You will see Auberge d'Italie on your left as you enter Birgu.

    If you are near the Malta Experience, exit the building and walk down the hill towards Fort Saint Elmo. Once you reach the waterfront, turn left and follow the promenade until you get to the foot of the bridge connecting Valletta to Birgu. Cross the bridge and as you enter Birgu, continue straight and Auberge d'Italie will be on your right.

    From the Main Bus Terminus in Valletta, head towards the City Gate and enter the city. Walk straight down Republic Street (Triq Repubblika) until you reach the end. Turn left onto Triq Il-Merkanti and continue straight until you reach the entrance of the Birgu area. Auberge d'Italie will be on your left as you enter the area.
