Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Naval Academy Visitor Center located at 186 Prince George Street, head southeast on Prince George Street towards King George Street. Turn left onto King George Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Maryland Avenue. Turn left onto Maryland Avenue, which will lead you to the City Dock. From the City Dock, follow the signs to the Annapolis Water Taxi and take it to the Eastport area. Once you disembark, walk straight to East Street, then turn right. Continue on East Street, which becomes G Street NW when you enter Washington, DC. The Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture will be on your right.

    From the Annapolis Transit Center at 2080 Generals Highway, take the Route 70 bus towards Westfield Annapolis Mall. Get off at the Westfield Annapolis Mall stop. Transfer to the Maryland Transportation Authority bus (MTA) Route 301 towards Washington, DC. Ride the bus until you reach the 'New Carrollton Metro Station.' From there, take the Metro Orange Line towards Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and transfer to the Blue Line at L'Enfant Plaza towards Franconia-Springfield. Get off at the Smithsonian station. Exit the station and walk north on 12th Street SW towards G Street NW. Turn left on G Street NW, and you will find the Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture on your left.
