Car
If you are driving from Assateague Island National Seashore, start by heading southwest on the main road (Assateague Island Road) to the intersection with Route 611. Turn right onto Route 611 and follow it until you reach the traffic light at Route 175. Continue straight to cross the bridge into Chincoteague Island. Once on the island, stay on Maddox Blvd. The Museum of Chincoteague Island will be on your left at 7125 Maddox Blvd, Chincoteague, VA 23336. There is parking available at the museum.

Public transportation options are limited in this area; however, you can use local shuttle services that operate between Assateague Island and Chincoteague. From Assateague Island, follow the same route as if you were driving: head southwest, take Route 611, cross the bridge into Chincoteague, and continue on Maddox Blvd. The museum is about 10 miles from the Assateague Island entrance.
