From there, transfer to the Metro and take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Travel for 12 stops (approximately 30 minutes) and get off at King Street-Old Town Metro Station. Exit the station, walk south on King Street for about 0.5 miles, turn right onto S Fairfax St, and the museum will be on your left.
Walking
If you are near the Rockville Town Center, you can walk to the Rockville Metro Station (about 0.5 miles). Once at the Metro Station, follow the directions above for the Metro. Alternatively, if you prefer a longer walk, you can walk directly to Alexandria. It is approximately 15 miles to the museum and will take around 4-5 hours. Follow the Rockville Pike south, then continue to follow signs towards Alexandria along the path that leads you through local parks.
Biking
For a more adventurous route, consider biking from Rockville to Alexandria. Start from Rockville Town Center and head south on the Rock Creek Trail. Follow the trails and paths leading to the Potomac River. Once you reach the river, navigate along the Mount Vernon Trail towards Old Town Alexandria. This route covers approximately 15 miles and will take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace. Once in Old Town, make your way to S Fairfax St to find the museum.
