If you're driving from a central location within Lewis and Clark National Forest, head south towards US-287 S. Follow US-287 S for about 22 miles until you reach the junction with I-90. Merge onto I-90 W and continue for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 274 towards MT-2 E/Whitehall. After exiting, turn right onto MT-2 E and follow it for about 1.5 miles. Then, turn left onto Lewis & Clark Caverns Road. The entrance to Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park is approximately 1 mile ahead.

Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to the nearest city, which is Butte, MT. From Butte, you would need to rent a car as there are no direct public transport services to the park. The drive from Butte to Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park will take around 1 hour. Head east on I-90, then take exit 274 towards MT-2 E/Whitehall and follow the directions as mentioned above.
