The Majestic Statue of Peace at Swoyambhu

Getting There

• Car

  From Gosaikunda, head south on the main road towards Dhunche. After approximately 30 minutes, take the left turn at the intersection towards Kathmandu. Continue straight for about 2.5 hours. Once you reach Kathmandu, follow signs towards Swayambhu. As you approach Swayambhu, look for landmarks such as the Swayambhunath Stupa. The Statue of Peace - Swoyambhu is located nearby, specifically at P78Q+8QM. There may be parking available near the statue, but it's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Statue of Peace - Swoyambhu using public transportation, first take a local bus from Gosaikunda to Dhunche. This ride takes about 30 minutes. From Dhunche, catch a bus heading towards Kathmandu. The journey will take approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Once in Kathmandu, you can take a taxi or local bus to Swayambhu. Make sure to inform the driver you are visiting the Statue of Peace - Swoyambhu, which is near the Swayambhunath Stupa. The total cost for transportation can vary, but expect to pay around NPR 300-500 for the bus from Dhunche to Kathmandu and NPR 200-400 for the taxi from Kathmandu to the statue.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Swayambhu area after taking public transportation or driving, you can walk to the Statue of Peace. From the Swayambhunath Stupa, head down the main path towards the entrance of the stupa. Continue walking for about 10 minutes, following signs for the Statue of Peace. Be prepared for some uphill walking, as the statue is located at a higher elevation. Keep an eye out for local vendors and small shops along the way.
