Getting There

• Walking

  From the main square in Nagarkot, walk towards the main road. Head down the hill towards the east until you reach the junction. Turn left at the junction and continue walking along the road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the bus station. From there, you will need to catch a local bus or a shared taxi heading to Kathmandu. Tell the driver to drop you off at Thamel, which is a well-known area in Kathmandu.

• Bus

  Once you arrive at the bus station in Nagarkot, look for a bus heading to Kathmandu. Local buses are frequent, so you shouldn't have to wait long. The fare is usually quite affordable. The bus will take you down to Kathmandu, and you should inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Thamel. Once you get off, walk towards Paknajol street, and look for DRS Bhawan, which is a short walk away.

• Trekking

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can trek from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. Start by taking the trail that leads down to the main road. Follow the path that descends through the forests and local villages. This route typically takes around 4-5 hours, depending on your pace. When you reach the main road, head towards Bhaktapur and then follow the signs to Kathmandu. This option offers beautiful scenery along the way.

• Bicycle

  If you have rented a bicycle in Nagarkot, start by heading down the main road towards the bus station. From there, follow the same route as the buses towards Kathmandu. Be cautious while riding as the road can be busy with traffic. The ride is about 20 kilometers and should take about 1-2 hours, depending on your speed. Make sure to stop and enjoy the views along the way.
