Getting There

Bus
To reach the Garden City Model Railroad Club at 50 Ferrymead Park Drive, catch the bus from the Christchurch Central bus interchange. Take the Bus Route 3 (to Sumner) or Route 3x (express). After approximately 20-25 minutes, get off at the 'Ferrymead Park' stop. From there, it's a short walk along Ferrymead Park Drive; simply head northwest for about 5 minutes, and you will see the entrance to the club on your right.

Bike
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Christchurch. Head towards the Avon River and follow the cycle paths to the south. Continue along the river until you reach the Ferrymead Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the road signs towards Ferrymead Park Drive. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace. The club will be on your left as you approach.

Walking
For those who enjoy walking, you can start from the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Walk south towards Rolleston Avenue, then turn left onto Armagh Street. Continue to the end of the street and cross over into Kilmore Street. Follow Kilmore Street until you reach Fitzgerald Avenue. Turn right and head south until you reach the Ferry Road intersection. Turn left onto Ferry Road and continue until you reach Ferrymead Park Drive. The Garden City Model Railroad Club will be a short walk down Ferrymead Park Drive on your right. This journey will take about 1 hour.
