From Mount Cook Village, head southeast on State Highway 80. Continue for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the intersection with State Highway 8 at the town of Twizel. Turn left onto State Highway 8 and continue for about 30 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Burkes Pass. After passing through Burkes Pass, continue on Fairlie-Tekapo Road for about 5 kilometers. Alma Historic Cob Cottage will be on your right at 2033 Fairlie-Tekapo Road.

Take a bus from Mount Cook Village to Twizel. Several services operate between these locations. Once in Twizel, you can catch a bus towards Fairlie. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as services may not be frequent. After arriving at the Fairlie-Tekapo Road stop, walk approximately 5 kilometers toward Burkes Pass, and you will find Alma Historic Cob Cottage on your left at 2033 Fairlie-Tekapo Road.
