Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving to Mt Ngauruhoe, start from the Tongariro National Park Visitor Centre located at Whakapapa Village. Head south on State Highway 48 (SH48) for approximately 10 km. You will reach a car park near the Tongariro Alpine Crossing trailhead. Park your vehicle here. From the car park, follow the signs for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing which will lead you towards Mt Ngauruhoe.
