From Gamboa, head southwest on Gamboa Road (Via Gamboa) towards the main highway. After approximately 5 km, merge onto the Pan-American Highway (Panamá - Colón) heading towards Panamá City. Continue on the highway for about 25 km until you reach the exit for Avenida Balboa. Follow signs for Avenida Balboa and merge onto the road. Continue straight for about 3 km, then turn left onto Calle 5a. The Monumento al canal de Panama will be located on your right, in the Conjunto Monumental de Las Bóvedas.

From Gamboa, take a bus to Albrook Terminal, which is the main bus terminal in Panamá City. Buses run regularly and the fare is around $1.00. Once you arrive at Albrook Terminal, transfer to a bus heading towards Avenida Balboa. After about 30 minutes, disembark at a stop near the Conjunto Monumental de Las Bóvedas. From there, it is a short walk (about 5 minutes) to the Monumento al canal de Panama.
