Car
From Harrisburg, take I-81 North for about 20 miles. Take exit 70 for PA-34 towards Duncannon. Continue on PA-34 South for approximately 8 miles until you reach Duncannon. Follow signs for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There is a small parking area at the trailhead located at the intersection of PA-34 and the Appalachian Trail. Parking is free.

Public Transportation (Bus)
Take the Rabbit Transit bus from Harrisburg to Duncannon. Buses operate on a limited schedule, so check the Rabbit Transit website for current times. Upon arrival in Duncannon, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to the trailhead. Follow Main Street (PA-34) south until you reach the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Be prepared for a steep hike to the overlook.

Once at the trailhead, follow the Appalachian Trail (white blazes) for about 1.2 miles to reach Hawk Rock Overlook. The trail is rocky and steep in some areas, so wear sturdy hiking shoes.
