Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Ollantaytambo, which is the nearest major town to the Salkantay Trail. Drive southeast on the main road towards the town of Soraypampa. After approximately 30 minutes, look for signs indicating the Perolniyoc Waterfall. You will need to park your car in a designated area nearby, as the road may not allow further access. From the parking area, it is a short hike to the waterfall.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, take a colectivo (shared taxi) from Ollantaytambo to Soraypampa. These colectivos can be found near the main square, and the ride costs around 10-15 soles per person. Once you arrive in Soraypampa, you will likely need to ask locals for the best route to the Perolniyoc Waterfall, as it is a popular destination for tourists. The hike from Soraypampa to the waterfall is about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and carry water.

  If you are already on the Salkantay Trail and wish to visit Perolniyoc Waterfall, you can hike from your current location. Depending on where you are on the trail, it may take several hours to reach the waterfall. Make sure to consult a map or ask fellow hikers for directions, as the trail can be tricky to navigate.
