Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Lisbon, take the A2 motorway toward Setúbal. After approximately 30 km, merge onto the A12 toward Sesimbra. Continue on the A12 and follow signs for Sesimbra. Once you reach the town, follow the signs to the center. The church is located at Largo do Monumento das Forças Armadas, 2970-763 Sesimbra. There is usually street parking available nearby, but be aware that it may be limited during peak tourist seasons.

• Public Transport - Bus

  To reach Igreja de São Tiago - Igreja Matriz de Sesimbra using public transportation, start at the Praça de Espanha bus station in Lisbon. Take the bus operated by Transportes Sul do Tejo (TST) toward Sesimbra. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Sesimbra, disembark at the main bus station. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to the church. Head south on Avenida dos Náufragos, then turn left onto Rua da Praça, which leads directly to Largo do Monumento das Forças Armadas.

• Public Transport - Train and Bus

  You can also reach Sesimbra via a combination of train and bus. Start by taking a train from Lisbon's Cais do Sodré station to the town of Setúbal. Once you arrive in Setúbal, transfer to the bus from Setúbal to Sesimbra (operated by TST). The total travel time, including waiting for transfers, is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. After arriving in Sesimbra, walk 10 minutes to the church at Largo do Monumento das Forças Armadas.
