Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the town of Castro Daire. From there, take the N2 road towards the direction of São João da Pesqueira. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will see signs for the Frecha da Mizarela waterfall. Follow the signs that lead you off the main road onto a smaller road that will take you through the scenic mountain landscape. Please note that the last part of the road may be a gravel path, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. There is no parking fee, but be mindful of where you park to avoid obstructing the road.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cascata Frecha da Mizarela using public transportation, first take a bus from the nearest larger town, Castro Daire, to the village of Travassô. This bus route operates several times a day, but be sure to check the local schedule for exact times. Upon arriving at Travassô, you will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers to reach the waterfall. Follow the signs towards Frecha da Mizarela, and enjoy the beautiful rural scenery along the way. It's advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes, as the path can be uneven.

• Hiking

  For those looking for an adventure, you can also hike to Cascata Frecha da Mizarela. Start from the nearest village, Travassô, and follow the marked hiking trails. The hike will take you through picturesque landscapes and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to bring water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the trail. The trailhead can be accessed from the village center, and it is free of charge.
