If you are driving, start from the main entrance of El Yunque National Forest, located on PR-191. Take PR-191 until you reach the intersection with PR-983. Turn right onto PR-983. Follow PR-983 for about 5 miles. Las Pailas is located on the right side of the road. Look for the small parking area where you can safely park your car.

To reach Las Pailas via public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi (carrito) from San Juan to Luquillo. Once you arrive in Luquillo, you will need to take a local taxi to reach Las Pailas as public transportation doesn’t directly service this location. Inform the taxi driver that you want to go to Las Pailas on PR-983. The taxi ride will take approximately 15 minutes from Luquillo.
