Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within the Guánica Dry Forest Reserve, start by heading south on PR-116 from the main parking area of the reserve. Continue for about 4 miles until you reach the intersection with PR-333. Turn left onto PR-333 and follow it as it winds down towards the coast. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will see signs for Malecón de Guánica. Turn right onto Avenida Esperanza Idrach, and you will arrive at your destination in about 0.5 miles. Look for parking spots along the road.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, you can catch a guagua (local minibus) from the main area of Guánica Dry Forest Reserve. Look for guaguas heading towards Guánica town. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop nearest to Malecón de Guánica. The fare is typically around $1-2. Once you disembark, walk approximately 0.3 miles east along Avenida Esperanza Idrach until you reach the Malecón. It’s a pleasant walk with views of the coast.

• Biking/Walking

  If you prefer an active way to reach Malecón de Guánica, consider biking or walking from the Guánica Dry Forest Reserve. From the reserve's entrance, head south on PR-116 for about 4 miles, then turn left onto PR-333. Continue along this road as it leads you towards the coast. Expect the trip to take around 30 minutes by bike or an hour on foot. The route is scenic and enjoyable, providing opportunities to observe local wildlife.
