Getting There

    From Portorož, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the main road (Tartini Square). Take the bus heading to Piran. Once you arrive in Piran, transfer to a bus heading towards Slovenia's border with Italy. Make sure to check the bus schedule as they may vary. After crossing the border, the bus will continue towards Aquileia. Get off at the stop closest to 'Via Giulia Augusta'. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Archaeological Area of Aquileia. Follow the signs towards the archaeological site.

  • Train and Bus

    Start at the nearest train station in Portorož. Take a train to the city of Trieste, Italy. Once you arrive at the Trieste train station, exit and look for the bus terminal right next to the station. Board a bus heading to Aquileia. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. After arriving in Aquileia, follow the signs to 'Via Giulia Augusta', which is a well-marked road leading directly to the Archaeological Area.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Portorož to the Archaeological Area of Aquileia. Simply ask your hotel to arrange a taxi for you or find one at a nearby taxi stand. The journey will take about 45 minutes depending on traffic and will take you directly to 'Via Giulia Augusta'.
