If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Alice. Take the N2 highway southbound towards Mthatha. Continue on the N2 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the Hluleka turnoff. The turnoff is clearly marked. Turn left onto the R61 road towards Port St. Johns and then continue for about 12 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Hluleka Nature Reserve. Follow the signs which will lead you through local roads until you reach the entrance of the reserve. Please note that there may be a small entrance fee to access the reserve.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Alice to Mthatha. Buses regularly leave from the main bus station in Alice. Once in Mthatha, you can catch a local minibus taxi heading towards Port St. Johns. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Hluleka turnoff. From there, you may need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach the entrance of Hluleka Nature Reserve. It is advisable to check with the minibus driver about the exact drop-off point to ensure you are not left too far from the reserve.
