Bus
From Summerville, head to the nearest bus stop for the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) routes. You can take the Route 10 – North Charleston to Downtown Charleston. Make sure to check the schedule, as buses may not run frequently. Once you board the bus, stay on until you reach the stop at Meeting Street and Calhoun Street. From there, walk north on Meeting Street for about 2 blocks, and you will find the South Carolina Historical Society at 100 Meeting St on your left.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike at one of the local bike rental shops in Summerville. Start your ride heading south on Main Street, then turn onto US-78 W. Follow US-78 W until you reach the junction with I-26 W. Continue on US-78 W and turn right onto King Street. Follow King Street until you reach Meeting Street, then turn left. The South Carolina Historical Society will be on your right at 100 Meeting St.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, start from the center of Summerville and head south on Main Street. Continue walking until you reach US-78, then follow the pedestrian path towards Charleston. Once you cross the bridge into Charleston, continue straight until you reach King Street. Turn left on King Street and walk until you reach Meeting Street, where you will take a right. The South Carolina Historical Society will be at 100 Meeting St, just a few blocks down on your right.
