Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from the center of Santiago de Compostela, head southeast on Rúa do Vilar toward Rúa Nova, then take the exit onto AP-9 toward A Coruña. Continue on AP-9 for about 70 km until you reach the junction for A-6 toward Madrid. Merge onto A-6 and continue for approximately 560 km. Take exit 9 for A-41 toward Ciudad Universitaria. Follow signs for Moncloa and then navigate to P.º de Ruperto Chapí, 1I, Moncloa - Aravaca, 28008 Madrid. There is usually street parking available nearby, but be aware of any parking regulations in the area.

• Public Transportation (Train)

  From Santiago de Compostela, you can take a train to Madrid. Head to the Santiago de Compostela train station and purchase a ticket to Madrid-Chamartín station. The train ride takes approximately 6-7 hours. Once you arrive at Madrid-Chamartín, transfer to Line 1 of the Madrid Metro (the light blue line) at Chamartín station. Take the train towards Valdecarros and get off at the Cuatro Caminos station. From Cuatro Caminos, transfer to Line 10 (the dark blue line) towards Puerta del Sur and get off at the Moncloa station. From Moncloa station, it is a short walk (about 10 minutes) to P.º de Ruperto Chapí, 1I, where the Monumento a Miguel Hernández is located.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  Alternatively, you can take a bus from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid. Buses are available from the Santiago de Compostela bus station and take about 9-10 hours. Once in Madrid, you can take the Metro from the Estación Sur de Autobuses. Board Line 6 (the gray line) toward Cuatro Caminos and transfer to Line 10 (the dark blue line) at the Cuatro Caminos station towards Puerta del Sur. Get off at the Moncloa station, and walk approximately 10 minutes to reach P.º de Ruperto Chapí, 1I, Moncloa - Aravaca.
