Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Göreme Open Air Museum, which is a well-known landmark. Head east along the main road (Müze Cd.) for about 1 km until you reach the junction with Avcılar Street. Turn left onto Avcılar Street, and continue walking straight for about 700 meters. You will see a sign for Sword Valley on your right, just before you enter the valley. Follow the path that leads down into the valley.

    From the center of Göreme (near the tourist information center), head south on Uzundere Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the main road. Cross the road and continue straight onto a smaller path that leads to Sword Valley. The valley entrance will be on your left after about 1.2 km.

    If you are near the Sunset Point, start walking down the hill towards the town. Follow the path that leads you to the main road, and then turn left. Walk for about 1.5 km until you reach the sign for Sword Valley on your left. The entrance to the valley will be just a short walk from the sign.
