Getting There

    From Down, head north on the A24 towards Belfast. Continue on the A24, which will merge into the A1. Follow the signs for Belfast, and take the exit for A2 towards Bangor. Stay on the A2 for approximately 7 miles. When you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A55 (Outer Ring Road) towards the city center. After about 2 miles, take the exit for the A12 towards the city center. Continue straight onto the A1, and follow signs for Antrim Road. After about 2 miles, you will see Belfast Castle on your right at Antrim Rd, Belfast BT15 5GR. There is a car park available at the castle.

    From Down, take a train from Downpatrick to Belfast. The train station in Downpatrick is located at 18-20 Market St. The train to Belfast usually departs every hour, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Belfast Central Station, exit the station and head to the bus stop located outside. Take the Metro Bus 1A or 1B towards the city center. Get off at the stop for Antrim Road (Belfast Castle). The castle is a short walk from the bus stop, following the signs to Antrim Rd, Belfast BT15 5GR.
