Getting There

• Walking

  From the heart of Gorbals, head east on Cumberland Street towards the intersection with Eglinton Street. Continue straight for about 0.3 miles, passing local shops and cafes along the way. You'll come to the junction with the River Clyde. If you reach the river, you've gone too far. Turn left onto the pathway that runs along the riverbank.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  For a longer excursion, find a nearby bus stop on Cumberland Street. Take the number 6 or 7 bus heading towards the city center. The fare is approximately £2.00 for a single journey. Get off at the stop outside the Glasgow Science Centre, a short 10-minute ride. From there, you can walk along the river to explore more of the Gorbals area.

  If you are near the Gorbals Recreation Centre, head south on the main road, turning right onto Gorbals Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the M8 motorway overpass. Look for signage directing you towards the city centre or the river, which will guide you back towards the main attractions of Gorbals.

  If you find yourself near the Gorbals train station, exit and head northwest on Eglinton Street towards Cumberland Street. After about 0.2 miles, turn left onto Cumberland Street. You will soon be in the heart of Gorbals and can explore the local sights.
