Bus
From the Nottingham city center, head to the Broadmarsh Bus Station. Take the bus number 6 towards Ashbourne. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Get off at the bus stop on the A515 near Ashbourne. From there, follow the signs to the Peak District National Park. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the Stepping Stones, River Dove from the bus stop, following the path along the river.

Train and Walk
Take the train from Nottingham Station to Derby. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once at Derby, transfer to a train heading towards Matlock and get off at the Matlock Station. From Matlock, you can either take a taxi directly to the Stepping Stones, River Dove (approximately 15 minutes away) or follow the walking paths which can take about 1 hour through the scenic countryside.

Walking
If you're in Ashbourne, you can walk to the Stepping Stones, River Dove. Start from the Market Place in Ashbourne and head south on the A515. Continue on this road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance to the Peak District National Park. Follow the signs for the walking trail leading to the Stepping Stones, which will take approximately 30 minutes on foot.
