If you are driving, start by heading southwest on the A835 from your location in Ross-shire. Continue on the A835 until you reach the junction with the A9. Merge onto the A9 southbound towards Inverness. After about 15 miles, take the exit onto the A75 toward Dumfries. Follow the A75 for approximately 40 miles. Once you reach Castle Douglas, take the exit onto the A713 towards Ayr. After 1.5 miles, turn left onto the B733. Follow this road for about 3 miles until you see signs for Threave Castle. There is a parking area available for visitors at the castle.
