From the city center of Sheffield, walk to the Sheffield Interchange bus station. Look for bus services heading towards Buxton; the 'X57' or '218' routes are good options. Purchase a ticket to Buxton. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Buxton, disembark at the main bus stop. From there, head towards the Monsal Trail by taking a short walk north along Station Road until you reach the trail entrance.

Make your way to Sheffield Railway Station, which is located in the city center. Purchase a ticket for a train to Buxton. Trains typically run every 30 minutes and the journey takes around 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at Buxton Station, exit the station and head north along the A515 (Station Road). After about a 15-minute walk, you will reach the entrance to the Monsal Trail.

If you are already in the Buxton area, you can walk to the Monsal Trail. Start at the center of Buxton, near the Pavilion Gardens. Head north on The Crescent, turn left onto St John's Road, and then take a right onto the A515. Continue walking for around 1 mile until you see signs for the Monsal Trail entrance. It’s a scenic route through the countryside.
