Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Sussex to 10 Downing Street in London, start by getting onto the A23 from your location in Sussex. Follow the A23 north until you connect with the M23 motorway towards London. Continue on the M23, which will eventually lead you to the A23 again closer to London. As you approach the city, follow signs for Central London. Once in the city, follow signs for Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. 10 Downing Street is located near the Palace of Westminster. Parking in central London can be quite expensive, so be prepared for parking fees that can range from £4.50 to £8.00 per hour, depending on the location you find.

• Train

  To reach 10 Downing Street via train, head to your nearest railway station in Sussex. Purchase a ticket to London Victoria or London Bridge, which are both major train stations in the city. The journey from stations in Sussex to London typically takes between 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at either London Victoria or London Bridge, you can take the Underground or a bus. From London Victoria, take the District or Circle Line to Westminster Station. From there, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to 10 Downing Street. If you arrive at London Bridge, take the Northern Line to Embankment, then switch to the District Line towards Upminster and get off at Westminster Station.

• Bus

  For those using public transport, you can take a bus from various locations in Sussex to London. Check the local bus services for routes that connect to London. Once you arrive in London, use the transport for London (TfL) services to reach Westminster. The bus routes 11, 211, and 24 all stop near Westminster. If you're coming from Brighton, the National Express coaches can also take you directly to Victoria Coach Station, from which you can take the Underground to Westminster Station.
