Altab Ali Park: A Serene Oasis in the Heart of London

Getting There

• Car

  From Sutherland, head south on the A9 towards Perth. Continue on the A9 until you reach the A82 exit towards Glasgow. Merge onto the A82 and follow the signs for London. This will eventually turn into the M1. Follow the M1 to the A13, then take the exit towards the A1210/Whitechapel. Continue onto the A1210, then turn left onto Adler Street. Altab Ali Park will be on your left at Adler St, London E1 1FD. Parking may be limited in the area, so plan accordingly.

• Train

  Take a train from Sutherland to London. You can catch a train from Sutherland railway station to London Euston, which usually requires a change at either Inverness or Glasgow. Upon arriving at London Euston, take the London Underground (Tube) to Whitechapel Station on the District or Hammersmith & City line. From Whitechapel Station, it is a 10-minute walk to Altab Ali Park. Exit the station, head south on Whitechapel Road, turn left onto Adler Street, and the park will be on your left.

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, take a bus from Sutherland to Inverness. From there, catch a National Express or Megabus service to London Victoria Coach Station. Once you arrive at Victoria, take the London Underground (Tube) on the District Line to Whitechapel Station. From Whitechapel Station, it is a 10-minute walk to Altab Ali Park. Exit the station, head south on Whitechapel Road, turn left onto Adler Street, and the park will be on your left.
